Given its geographic situation, in the limit of the south convergence, Rurutu is benefited by nicer temperatures than the rest of the islands in the group.

From November to April the temperature rises to 30ºC or 31ºC, but temperatures are nice due to wind changes.

During dry seasons, the temperatures descend to 16º at night: its the limit for the coconut palm.

With great periods of sunshine Rurutu is not totally rainy and cold as some like to describe it. What is certain is that the island has numerous microclimates; it can rain tremendously on one side, while on the other the sun is shining beautifully. The weather broadcast can change from one side to the other of the island. Therefore, you will not cancel an excursion even though you think it might rain.

Important depressions might overcome during January to March. Cyclones are rare, the last ones were registrated in 1994.
